I am running KeePass 2.56, but have never upgraded for format/encryption for years. I kept intending to do that. I noticed in the release notes it says "Databases are now always saved in the KDBX 4/4.1 file format". Does this mean after I upgrade to Keepass 2.57 it will automatically upgrade the format and encryption? If not what is the best way to force the newest/suggested encryption and 4.1 format? Currently Database Settings show Encryption algorithm as: AESRijndael (265-bit key, FIPS 197) Key...

I understand the argument that with spyware on a computer then you can't promise security. However then why should one bother having software that encrypts the data in memory etc vs just storing passwords in a simple database? One can't stop every attack, however it is important to put in appropriate counter measures wherever one can. Adding additional layers of protection that are independent of the other to mitigate a security breach is important.

I was trying to figure out how to best convert my KDBX file to the new better format and that is what confused me even in looking at the links before I made my first post. Things seemed to indicate that if i changed Encryption from AES/Rijndael to ChaCha20 that wold upgrade toe KDBX 4?? Something else said changing Key Transformation from AES-KDF to Argon2d or Argon2id wold change the file format?? It is recommended that I that do one or the other or both and what is the the differences? Also what...

As many sites have requirements that you must have at least 1 upper case, one lower case letter, a number and a special character could that be added to the password generator? I saw the options for "at most", but what about at minimum for the types of characters many sites often "require"

I have been running Keepass 2 for a long time, but never upgraded to the 4 format. What do I need to do to upgrade to the 4 format? At the same time if I am making database changes anything else I should look at adjusting? thanks Alan

I know Swiss File Knife tools can search XLS files, but what about having a utility that takes the input of a file name and a sheet name and exports that sheet to a CSV? If one wanted to be really cool, if not sheet name it would export each sheet to a separate CSV File with names matching the sheet names. thanks for the cool tools! Alan
