About Pedigree Cloud

PedCloud is a superset of PedPub, i.e. it does everything that PedPub does and more. We don't provide demos of our software but you can see a number of demo videos here: Demo Videos. Here is a quick screen shot of PedCloud. To view a pedigree, select a record from the grid view then click the Pedigree drop button and select a form to display it on. The MAIN difference with Pedigree Publisher (PP) is that Pedigree Cloud (PC) is a superset of PP, i.e. it can do everything that PP can do and more. PP can only open a .DB desktop file on your own computer so there is no way of doing live sharing with another user. PC can also open. DB file but in ADDITION it can open one or MySQL database servers. You can allow other users in your group to also open the same MySQL databases and hence all the users in your group will see and edit the same data at the same time. The major functions are described in the following sections.

PedPub as we call it is a completely new development and replaces Pedigree Explorer (PedX). Here is a quick screenshot of PedPub. To view a pedigree, select a record from the grid view then click the Pedigree drop button and select a form to display it on. Exporting and importing data is easy with other applications like Access, Word, and Excel. Users can actually copy and paste data from Access or Excel and paste data directly into Excel. Because PedPub is fully customisable there is no limit to the data you can record and report on.

Use PedigreePoint software to put your database on the web so others can search and display pedigrees and other reports pertaining to an entry. Typically you would use a desktop application to maintain your pedigree database then, when you're ready, publish any updates to the MySQL database used by PedPoint so users of your website can see it. A sample of the pedigree view is shown below. It shows how PedPoint can display photos and also what we call marks which are the solid blocks of color in some of the cells. These can be used to indicate that an entry has for example some genetic defect. PedigreePoint installs on a website and is written in PHP. It connects to a MySQL relational database which is usually located on the same server as the website.

PedPro
PedPro
PedPro is an animal breeding and pedigree software product that prints your pedigrees and stores your breeding records. It is available for Windows computers. Initially, it operates as a 30-day trial version. After the trial period purchase a registration code for the full, unrestricted, version. PedPro remembers the details of animals previously entered and saved in the data file. If you've previously stored your pedigrees in either of these other products, transfer them easily into PedPro without having to use CSV/text import/export. Not all data is transferred, please check suitability first. Optionally include wrights inbreeding coefficient in pedigrees. Choose how many generations are used in the computation. Include photos in the pedigree, including selecting a watermark image to appear behind the pedigree. The full version of PedPro has a limit of 1,000,000 animals in a single data file. You can have as many data files as you like.
