The goal of Simple js IRC is to create an IRC client application that can be ported to different mobile platforms with minimal work. To accomplish this, most of the implementation is done in HTML/Javascript and only the parts that absolutely must be implemented in platform specific native language (java/C#/Objective-C/Qt/some other) are implemented this way.

In the beginning this project will attempt to create a very generic IRC client for iOS, Android, N9 and WP by using combination of shared HTML/js code for UI and most of the logic and native backend for creating and managing TCP connections to IRC servers.

More platforms and platform specific optimizations will follow later after the basic code is completed.
