  • This program has saved me years and years of work. The only reason I rated the features as good and not excellent is because I would like to see a reliable shredder built in. So when things are deleted on the destination drive the user has the option for them to be shredded and not just deleted.
  • Awesome program to sync files! It has quite extended features and allow quite some customization. Batch mode allows custom automation from command line (without missing features), which is very helpful for me.
  • UI could use some work, but otherwise an excellent tool with robust functionality. I especially appreciate the scripting capability.
  • I must say that the interface is *ugly*. It's crowded with no free space
  • Best file sync especially for mirroring data backup. It would be nice to have an online mirroring backup.
  • Outstanding program. And it's free!! I have used this program for about 3-4 years now. And it is simply amazing. I had been looking for a program like this for years. The one I used to have was ViceVersa, until it became too expensive. It basically mirrors my important folders over to my NAS (Sylonogy and D-Link). It does such a great job showing exactly what is going to change (delete/add/modify). It's so simple to use, but also customizeable. You can change the behaviour of individuals files. Simply the best. Zenju did such a good job creating this. Thank you!
  • I was looking for a portable app that I could carry on my flash drive so I could make sure my files that may have been changed on either desktop or flash drive were easy to sync. I was manually syncing and will still do so but this program easily shows me what is mismatched. This program does exactly what I wanted from such an application. I created a Sourcforge account just to give this app a good review. Keep up the good work. If I find I will use this on a regular basis will probably send some kind of donation. Did not rate support due to not having to use support yet. As for the users that have other issues I can understand why lower reviews, however I only base my review on the compare feature and not the sync feature. If I do use sync and have issues I will update review based on my experience. Although this is not a full featured sync tool with email notices and other advanced features it does what I wanted it to do, the full featured programs are not usually portable so I still give it 5 stars for features.
  • FreeFileSync is an impeccable program that we recommend to each and every one of our customers for backing up their data.
  • I've tried many other free softwares like this one and this one beats them all ! Simple, easy and fast !
  • The best sync app!
  • Easy to use and works exactly as I needed.
  • After transporting user data (> 5000 files) from old PC to new PC verification of data against transporting USB-memory desired. Search for adequate tool in Windows 8.1 fruitless, but FreeFileSync just the perfect tool - and apparently with more great functions and settings to be explored later (macros, autofunctions, filtering and more...) - just had a look into what seems a quite extensive Help function; translation of this Help function contents into local language (Danish) would be nice though. Very easy to use intuitively for the first time - refer to #Overview in Help.
  • Super soft! After 3 years of the use only the good impressions! Thanks and good luck!
  • This program is outstanding. Very easy to use & setup; reliable... does what it says on the tin!
  • Very easy to use and does the job well!
  • Awesome
  • I like this a lot, synchronises my backups a lot faster and easier!
  • The best of all I tried (Synctoy, Robocopy, etc.) for backing up 50 laptops to a server. Simple config, nice features: versioning, omitting select folders (like /AppData), daily logs for checking health. Easily automated using Windows Task Scheduler. Support is excellent, better than I've ever seen from anyone! Zenju quickly found and fixed an obscure bug that was actually Task Scheduler's fault. I don't like adware either, but that may be SourceForge's doing, not FFS's. Anyway, easily unchecked.

  • Wow! Wow! Wow! one Wow! for each Sync I just did! Compared to Vista "Copy"...whole 'nother galaxy. There's absolutely no reason to not have backups of everything. I've had a nice external hard drive over there, plugged in, powered up, for ages... don't even remember when I hooked it up or what it's make and model is. I intended to do backups, but I thought they would take too long, and so I waited to do them when convenient. They never got done and I forgot all about it. I just ran out of hard drive space, and so I thought, well, I'll just start moving stuff over to that external usb drive. At first I just used Vista's "Copy" command. Ha! Whaddabomb! ForgetAboutIt! I found and loaded up FastFileSync. From Install to first very large folder/files (photos) move and completion... not sure of exact time but it was turbo fast because while it was doing "It", I was playing on eBay, and then when I went to check on FastFileSync, it was just about completed, and then boom! it finished. I couldn't believe it and had to double, triple check things... and so the reason for my first Wow! The other Wow's are similar. I'll even add, if you'll excuse my Brooklyn: "Holy Crap!". Surely not like the old days with "Zip" drives, and tape drives, and bernouli boxes, etc... Expect a donation after I budget my next disability check. I got to fit in a donation. This damn FastFileSync (oops! Brooklyn again) is worth every penny... especially considering the value of the data being saved. If I lost my photos, I would cry forever, and every time I thought about it, or looked at that empty USB hard drive. Thanks to All for the Hard Work, Intelligence, and thoughtfulness, that went into this FastFileSync program. Yes! Many Thanks! Enjoy ALL! Be Kind! At Your Service! Best Regards to You & Yours John V, Brennan Owego, NY PS. Jeeze! HA! I posted my review, then checked it, and realized I made a funny mistake. So here I am correcting things. If You'll Notice! I keep calling the software FastFileSync!!!!! Hahahaha! It's FreeFileSync Johnny!!!!! hahahaha... I gotta drive it home... FreeFileSync, FreeFileSync, FreeFileSync... but FastFileSync wouldn't be a bad name for it either. HA! I need Meds! Enjoy!
  • I choose this program for preparate for my studing. It's really easy and powerful! You can see changes from version to version, and can track evolution of this software. Very interesting , like as historical movie or book.
  • Now that the venerable FileSync has mysteriously stopped working on my PC, I am relieved to find FreeFileSync works well for me in similar ways.
  • Fast and easy to use. Allows me to sync selected directories between laptop and desktop quickly and accurately. Options include sync, one-way update, and clone. Works with Win 8.1, 7, and XP.
  • Very straightforward and intuitive sync program. It has the essential features (though I'd recommend adding an option to encrypt and/or compress one of the sync folders, a la CryptSync).
  • Perfect for doing my 2 way sync. I really like the graphs and statistics, this is a very good addition to a normally boring app :) (backups apps are normally boring; not saying your app is)
  • Excellent tool for file synchronization :) I have ever seen
