Possible scenarios:
You have thousands of family and vacation photos. But you haven't yet gotten around to sort them all out, so they are all scattered across your documents, desktop, and import folders for your phone and camera.
With BRAG you can scan your entire user directory for all jpg, jpeg, tiff, raw, or whatever formats your cameras use.
There might be thumbnails folders for the same files, and these can easily be excluded from backup as well.
