yah yah, finally: support for running sntop in the background as a daemon. 1.4.0 is released, enjoy.
the new daemon mode (--daemon/-d) wont fork into the background automatically, it just disables ncurses and other background-problematic features. i figure most people will do something like:
$ sntop --daemon --html &

1.3.3 released that fixes this and nothing more, sorry. --rml
sntop 1.3.2 is out. nothing at all very special -- only some very minor bug fixes. as always, enjoy and please report bugs and ideas. -- rml
better late than never, eh? its actually been on the anon ftp for awhile ... but here it is. bug fixes.
1.3.0 is out the door ... and the long awaited alarm/action feature is in place. on either any status change or just host downing, an external file can be executed. a sample script, alarm.sh, is included that will log all host activity to a file and e-mail root when a host goes down. see the manpage.
we also stuck in color support ... i like it. but does it compile everywhere?
plus some other changes. enjoy -rml
its been awhile, but 1.2.1 is out ... mostly minor bug fixes and cleanups. we appreciate the patches and comments.
thanks to Matthew Emerton <matt@gsicomp.on.ca> we are now an official FreeBSD port. we are in ports/net/sntop for those wishing to use the official package.
also see http://www.freebsd.org/ports/
..nevermind.
we added a configure system (using gnu autoconf) to the package -- run ./configure prior to make. this should help portability. there are also some fixes, optimization, and a new feature - making this a 1.2 release. enjoy.
good news! with release 1.1.3, sntop should compile, install, and run cleanly on FreeBSD.
as of 1.1.2, sntop compiles, installs, and runs on OpenBSD. this probably means other BSDs will work fine, but we have not yet tested.
