Qaryan is a text-to-speech engine for Hebrew, written in C#.

Version 0.2.0 - July 28, 2008

This is the second proper release of Qaryan after many months of development. The release includes the engine itself, a Windows Forms GUI and a cross-platform command-line client.

This version no longer depends on DirectX _or_ Windows, and runs on both the .NET and Mono frameworks. The MBROLA speech synthesizer remains the only closed-source component required for operation.... read more
