The release on 2006-01-17 has been delayed quite a bit as there have been some bugs that needed to be squashed first. Most of the major ones are fixed now, but there's still a bug with the fleet positioning when you create a new game that I'm trying to fix. The good news is that a number of other bugs have been fixed, especially the one that really kept the release from seeing the light of day: you couldn't actually play the game as nothing was sent to the next player. So, once the positioning gets fixed and controls work in LWJGL again, a release will be posted.

This release sees a number of major improvements over the previous release. At the heart of it, the preferences system received a major upgrade, implementing a number of new features: customise key bindings, change default volumes, change mouse sensitivity. The email system received an overhaul as well, and so it should support more SMTP servers now. Finally, the sound system was overhauled, which should lead to improved performance. So go download it now, it's really worth it!

Due to a lapse in my ability to read emails properly, the home page for Eleconics broke a month or so ago. It took far too much effort to migrate all the information to that site in the first place, so we'll have to use the equivalents offered here on SourceForge. It may not be as pretty, but it certainly works.

I may create a new page there in the future, one that is pretty and shows off the game, but we'll live with this now.

After many months of doing nothing on the project, we've finally put together releases in a few different formats. This is an alpha release, so much of the game is still unstable, and certainly not in a form that could be called final. Head over to the files section to snag one of the releases.
