Note on App Security.

I will no longer be updating this project. However due to new Google and cellphone added security , when You download this app there will be a security warning. The App has no safety problems . It does not access files or the internet. You may safely install the app. This old version still works well.

Sentence display field too small.

Opened up the sentence field as it was dropping words on the larger sentences.
Also managed to use the whole of the screen height which improves the screen layout .

New voice in BEND MY EAR

Added the ability to play a sentence with the voice that setup on the Phone.
I enjoy the challenge of the American accent but it is sometimes very difficult to follow.
I decided to add the Phone voice to the App. You can download a voice to suit you.
I still recommend that You download the real program from http://angelsound.tigerspeech.com
There you will find a program for Windows or several Apps for Iphone and Ipad.
The reason for my App is that Angel is not available for Android.

My First Android App

Welcome to the world of those that cannot hear so well.
My hearing started going down hill at the age of 60. by the time I was 79 I got a score of 12% for word perception.
I am now privileged to have a cochlear implant and the improvement is amazing.
I NEED TO PRACTICE LISTENING.
There are quite a few programs for PCs and cellphones available. My favourite is Angel from Tiger Speech .
Visit www.emilyfufoundation.org
However I wanted something for my Android phone that I could use whenever I have a spare moment.
One thing I also discovered is that if you can read a word or sentence while listening to it, the exercise is very much easier.
My App uses the 1440 sentences taken from Angel. It selects a sentence randomly and plays it. You can repeat playing it until you understand it. The sentences are really tricky so if you give up You can display the sentence. When You replay it hopefully You will hear it perfectly.
I have added the ability to add background noise to make it even more challenging and You can play it slower to make it easier (playing the sentence slower sometimes makes it more distorted).
I hope this App will be of help.
Peter
PS....
This whole exercise has been a hugh cut and paste effort. I would like to acknowledge the fabulous articles on coding and Android Studio
that so many people have contributed.
