ZXing Android Embedded is a barcode scanning library for Android, using ZXing for decoding. The project is loosely based on the ZXing Android Barcode Scanner application but is not affiliated with the official ZXing project. By default, only SDK 24+ will work, even though the library specifies 19 as the minimum version. For SDK versions 19+, one of the changes changes below are required. Some older SDK versions below 19 may work, but this is not tested or supported. While this is not the primary purpose of this library, it does include basic support for generating some barcode types. To change the orientation, specify the orientation in your AndroidManifest.xml and let the ManifestMerger to update the Activity's definition. The camera permission is required for barcode scanning to function. It is automatically included as part of the library. On Android 6 it is requested at runtime when the barcode scanner is first opened.

SwingSane is a powerful, cross platform, open source Java front-end for using Scanner Access Now Easy (SANE) back-ends. The most powerful feature is its ability to query back-ends for scanner specific options which can be set by the user as a scanner profile. It also has support for authentication, mutlicast DNS discovery, simultaneous scan jobs, image transformation jobs (deskew, binarize, crop, etc), PDF and PNG output. It can also be integrated with your own Java application.

Scan It project was created to facilitate and ease document scanning from web browsers. The project is built with C# as a backend, HTML as frontend and plenty of open source libraries. Solutions that depend on document digitization most of the time depend on scanners to be used within the project implementation. For instance, a project that is switched from hardcopy document processing to a softcopy document processing and the client needs that all old documents to be digitized. Here comes the use of scanner devices, and the client needs all of the systems to be web-based, no desktop software allowed. Here comes Scan It to save the day.

This project aims to create a single easy to use GUI wrapper for ghostscript and tesseract to allow scanned pdf to plain text or HTML for scanned documents.

Shared Questionnaire System(SQS) is a full-functional Optical Mark Reader(OMR) form processing system implemented in Java-Swing, XSL-FO and AJAX with straightforward GUIs. It is aimed at developing social platform to share knowledge about questionnaire.

Allows to use a digital camera as a scanner by removing distortion and effects of uneven lighting from a set of photos. A picture of a white sheet of paper can be used as a reference for calibration. Outputs corrected JPEG files and optionally a PDF document combining all pictures.
