Add DotCode support, please. This code is in Zint and designed for use with high-speed industrial printers, where printing accuracy cannot be guaranteed.

International Chars

When passing a text qrcode with international characters like ç é ã ... the result gets the characters replaced.
There is a way to change that ?

In some situations, and for some users, beeping is disabled (eg under Stumpwm on Linux, who knows why) or can't/won't be heard. How about enabling libnotify notifications, perhaps with a command-line switch? Or adding some other kind of feedback, perhaps visible -- maybe flash-invert the capture window's content?

Please consider, for the *n*x command-line version, enabling single-code-only identification (quit after the first code is recognized) and/or auto-dispatch of recognized codes to $BROWSER or the system/XDG default browser. Many thanks.

Hate to tell you, but this project hasnt been updated in years and years. You're going to need to download the code and remove it yourself or find another barcode scanner SDK. Sucks I know.

Apple with stop accepting updated apps that use UIWebView in Dec (and new apps this April). ZBarHelpController uses a UIWebView - can this be replaced with the WkWebView before the deadline please? Thanks!

As over the years in the meantime there are four tickets demanding this feature, maybe let me link them together:

- linking to another project specially for datamatrix, proposing to include this one
Dec 2012: https://sourceforge.net/p/zbar/feature-requests/76/
- asking about using ZXing's data matrix code (well, hm ...) - AND also offering "some funding"!
Jan 2014: https://sourceforge.net/p/zbar/feature-requests/82/
- also with "can support funding"!

The hard way would eventually be to fetch Zbar's sources (which we already did for compiling it for iOS's 64-bit demands), to fetch that code mentioned in number 50 - and try to merge it in somehow :-\

But as spadix wrote above back then that they "have in fact begun working on (native) DataMatrix support", there would be no need for such acts - the resulting question still is: will it ever come?

Is spadix still around here? Obviously he stopped posting replies around January 2013(?).

Just to bundle the tickets, refresh the topic, show that there still would be demand for that feature - and expressing the hope that Zbar is still alive.

I know: meanwhile there's barcode-support from Apple itself - but rework all code for that? And somewhere I read, that Apple also doesn't support datamatrix ...
