Proper history

There should be the option of storing the activity
history into a table instead of just as plain text
which is next to useless.

Workflow/Group rules

I'd like the ability to restrict which status a group can
change a bug to.

For example: a developer can change a bug to "fixed"
or "need more info" etc. but can't change a bug
to "closed".

Testers can change a bug to "close", "re-opened", etc.

This should be configurable by the administrator.

remember view issues settings

Could you save the settings on the view issues page. If
you limit the issues you are looking at, say to a specific
user, then you edit a bug and come back to the view
issues page, it is showing everything again. Its not that
big of a deal but it would be nice to have.

Remove Dependence on MySQL

It would be nice to be able to use databases other than
MySQL. This is not too difficult, as the DB package
already provides the necessary functions.

Prefix table names

It would be nice if workbench would prefix the table
names with wb_ for example, so you can have more than
one application using the same db (the case with most
webhosters where they give you access to only 1
database) and they don't step in each other shoes.

I have already done that, and it seems to be working
okay thus far (no reason not to :).

user roles

It would be nice to have a different role for users depending
on the project.

I could be a tester for one project (only being able to enter
issues) and a developer on another project (so people could
assign issue to me on that project).
For other projects I could be a planner, and only allowed to
look at the issues and change priorities and due dates.

This could replace or complement the group concept.

Updates since last visit

It would be nice if the Home page showed which bugs had
been modified since you last logged in - otherwise it
becomes a case of mindlessly clicking through each bug
in turn trying to work out if anything has changed....

assigning issues

It would be very nice if the issues could be entered
into database unassigned. Sometimes a person reporting
a problem is not aware who to assign the issue to and
it would be nice if someone knowledgeable could
reassign the issue later. Otherwise, this software is
an excelent piece of work! Thanks for the good work!

Skinnable Site Design

I guess it would be a really nice feature, if
administrators would be able to
use/create/import/export own themes like it is done in
PHPBB for example. It would be very useful especially
in companies and so on.
