Or, have you already been supported?

set value for SHOW_IMPLIED

It appears that the Pegasus CIMOM requires that a
reference property include the 'REFERENCECLASS' class
name when creating association instances, as shown here:

<PROPERTY.REFERENCE NAME="ManagedElement"
REFERENCECLASS="CIM_StorageConfigurationService">

The XML produced by the WBEMServices client
distribution does not include 'REFERENCECLASS' when
creating association instances.

I did a little digging into
javax.wbem.cimxml.XmlElement and discovered that If I
set the member variable 'SHOW_IMPLIED' to 'true',
'REFERENCECLASS' is then included in the reference
properties used to create associations.

So, my question is:
Is there an 'accepted' way to make sure that
'SHOW_IMPLIED' is set to 'true'? Perhaps via a
property file? Some other mechanism?
At this point, the only way that I know to set
SHOW_IMPLIED to be 'true' is to make modifications to
the code. But this just doesn't seem right. Any
suggestions? Something that I am missing?

Thanks for any reply,

namespaces that will work across the various CIMOM
implementations, but am having a bit of difficulty.
Perhaps someone here could enlighten me?

According to the DMTF document titled "Specification
for CIM Operations over HTTP", version 1.1, January 06,
2003:

Section 2.3.3.1.1 states
"It is the common practice proposed by this document
that instances of CIM_Namespace be created in root
unless there is a specific reason to define them in
another namespace.

The inclusion of a CIM_Namespace instance within a
namespace other than root is allowed."

This leads me to believe that I should enumerate
instances of CIM_Namespace (or __Namespace) in the
root namespace. Indeed this does work for Pegasus.

For the WBEMServices CIMOM, it seems that I have to
enumerate instances of CIM_Namespace in the
root/cimv2 namespace. In fact, the default installation
will list both root and root/cimv2 as CIM_Namespace
instances that exist in root/cimv2.

So my question is this:
If I cannot assume that instances of CIM_Namespace
exist in a known namespace (for example root), how do I
find them? Must I try to first enumerate instances in
root, then if none are found, enumerate instances in
root/cimv2?

Thanks for any insight into this,

How can I use WbemServices to manage a Linux host ? I
for example, CIM_Process it returns no instance. What
can I do to make it connects with real OS instances ?
Is it necessary to setup a CIM database on Linux ? If
so how I can do that ?

I´m developing a project using WbemServices v.0.94 and
I´m having trouble to execute a WQL query. I´m
initializing my objects like these:

CIMNameSpace cns = new CIMNameSpace
("localhost","root\\cimv2");
cop = new CIMObjectPath("Win32_Processor");
cop.setHost("localhost");
cop.setNameSpace("root\\cimv2");
cc = new CIMClient(cns, up, pc, protocol);
String query = "Select * from Win32_Process where
handle=8 ";
Enumeration e = cc.execQuery(cop, query, cc.WQL);

obs: up e pc are properly initialized with user and
password information. The user in "up" has
administrative rights.

When I run this query I get a Java
NullPointerException like this:
XMLERROR:
execQuery,java.lang.NullPointerException

at
javax.wbem.client.adapter.http.CIMClientXML.execQuery
(CIMClientXML.java:1169)

at javax.wbem.client.CIMClient.execQuery
(CIMClient.java:1617)

at joao.wbem.<init>(wbem.java:83)

at joao.wbem.main(wbem.java:112)

See the complete file attached.
Please, any help would be appreciated.
