Do Sony Walkmans keep track of the tracks that are played? If it is so, then would it be easy for you to expose the log of the play counts somehow? Perhaps it could be exported to a .txt or .log file. Or something.
The reason I am asking this is because I (among many - MANY - other people out there) would like to submit the songs that I play on my Walkman to the Last.Fm database. Since Jsymphonic is the only way (apart from SS) to get to a Walkman's innards, it would be awesome if something like this was implemented in the program. An ideal solution would be that through Jsymphonic a user could invoke a reading of the play count log, and then those entries would be submitted to last.fm or alternatively exported in a file.
If you have nothing like this in plan, or if it's too much hassle, then I hope a feature of exporting the play count log, Last.FM-agnosticly, would be sufficient, and not too requiring. I have tried, sadly to no avail, expanding my programming skills this past year, while following the Jsymphonic project, hoping I could contribute features I would welcome in it. For now, I can only provide the Last.fm API documentation: http://www.last.fm/api and the source page for a project that uses this API in a similar way to the one I described in the previous paragraph (getting a playcount, then submitting it): http://code.google.com/p/mobbler/source/browse/ (it is a scrobbler for Symbian phones)
I hope you can make something out of this suggestion. Keep up the good work.
I've never thought about that, but it is a pretty good idea !!
However, it will only be possible if the walkman stores these king of info... For the moment, I really don't know.
There are other important feature to be done before this one, so I lower the priority. I doesn't mean that it is feasable !! For the moment, I don't know, and I won't search for the moment.
Just wait and pray ;-)
