I would like to be able to use SBO terms to describe them, but there do not appear to be any appropriate terms in the occurring entity representation. I would like to suggest that "recombination" be added as a type of SBO:0000205 - composite biochemical process, sibling to SBO:0000204 - DNA replication. This might be further refined with two subterms, one for recombinase-based excision and another for recombinase-based inversion.

In the participant role branch, I do not think we need any new terms: modified and modifier seem sufficient.

#138 New modeling framework for particle-based discrete spatial simulation
