The Dictionary feature that has been offered in all
previous PfP LMS Prototype versions has proven to be
one of the more valuable features to support user
(particularly our international users) assimilation of the
course content. It allows for every word of content to
be defined using webster's definition.
It differs significantly from the Glossary. The Glossary
describes words, phrases or acronyms that have been
selected by the instructor. When a highlighted Glossary
item is selected (clicked on), a pop up window appears
to describe it. The entire list of selected Glossary terms
can also be viewed by the user. Unlike the Glossary, the
Dictionary will define any word of text. When a user
selects any word and then clicks the "Dictionary" button
in the LMS, a pop up window appears with all of
Websters definitions displayed.
If at all possible, this feature should be retained. 5
