I was wondering if you would be able to add a setting that lets users adjust the density of the falling lines of characters. Currently I have Matrix themed screensavers on both my Mac and my PC a few feet away, and the one I have on PC has more black space between the falling lines of code, and as a result looks closer to what I saw in the film. I otherwise really love the screensaver - thanks to all who worked on it.

Add mode like famous xscreensaver

I understand that would be duplicating work, but there is no decent port of the GLMatrix XScreensaver to Windows. This would be awesome to have.

Feature request - B/W pics.

If it is possible (and if it's not so hard). Importing custom pictures in black&white format (JPG,TGA,BMP) with possibility to use luminosity as depth (black=deep). And/or custom text messages using system fonts.

PS. Or maybe just some sort of editor for custom txt messages and pics.

Slocate in bug report script

Use slocate if available instead of find in the bug_report script, it would be much faster

Config file in Windows

As requested by Apocrypha, we should implement a config file in Windows so that options can be saved. One of these methods should be used:
> Settings should be auto-saved (i.e changing to static mode would save to the config file immediately)
> Pressing the W key will write out the current settings to the config file.
Obviously since it's windows, we can't expect users to write their own.

Support install on OSX

Right now matrixgl compiles and runs on OSX. However, it doesn't work or install in the mac screensaver manager, and therefore is useless as a screensaver on mac.

I'm not sure how to fix this without tons of Objective-C, which I don't know. If anybody knows a way without using Objective-C, it would be much appreciated :).

Use Autotools

The project should use autotools for better portability. The install should also be ported to the Makefile, so we can have the standard install:
$./configure
$make
#make install

Automake can probably find the xscreensaver directories more reliably too.
