The problem I see with this suggestion is that such 4 character frame names only exist for ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 tags (and some are different for these two versions). This would make it necessary to update the UI every time the file selection is changed (and more complicated if multiple files are selected). Normally you will have only tags of one type in a single album, but the case with a wide variety of formats would have to be handled nevertheless. For other tags than ID3 the names would be much longer (and most of the time quite similar to the unified names), which would make the combined names rather long. For these reasons I tend towards keeping things as they are at the moment. At least you can always go the a frame and click "Edit" to see the internally used frame (e.g. the 4 character name) for all supported formats.
