&lt;p&gt;The second frame (grand_hyatt_ny.jpg) only flashes on&lt;br /&gt;
the screen, while the other two show for 2 seconds&lt;br /&gt;
properly.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;if I rename (so the order changes as to test it's not&lt;br /&gt;
the jpeg)&lt;br /&gt;
#ls -1 *.jpg&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I get very strange artefacts in the film&lt;br /&gt;
when displaying it with xanim as if&lt;br /&gt;
the colorspace has been overstretched,&lt;br /&gt;
i.e. (let's say we have 8bit) after&lt;br /&gt;
the image color range passes over 255 and&lt;br /&gt;
is mapped back to 0.&lt;/p&gt;
