Hi,

Voice modems have their own sound system, and many can be connected to sound card. They can be used for "phone answering and calling" systems.

1) It would be possible to have the modem answer the phone and transfer the audio to the IHU phone.

2) It would be possible to have the IHU phone send a command or request to dial the modem, to establish a connection with a phone somewhere.

3a) In the first instance the IHU recipient, and phone number to be dial (in either respective situation of 1 or 2) can be set to a default manually.
3b) Later it might be possible to tell the modem which number to ring (and how to handle waiting, etc), or how to get in touch with an IHU connection over the net.

Yours
Alasdair
