This is very good program. I use it to convert files
from my TV card to DivX. But I have some files that are
over 4GB (on NTFS) and FlasKMPEG couldn't handle these
files.

Save Processing State

Can there be any way to save the state of an encoding
session....for example, if I'm 5 hrs into encoding a
particular movie and I have to shutdown or reboot my
machine, urgently. It'd be really cool to have a way to
save the state so that I don't have to redo all the
encoding again. Once I load it up again, it should just
continue from where I left off.

need chapter suport

I do encoding and I would perfer just to use that
chapters vs the crop bar. They are there to find what
you want. Most of the time it is all I want is one or two
chapters. Also if doing TV. I do not want to use the
crop bar to skip the end credits when I could just say
only chapters 1-5, 7-12... and so on.

The only thing missing in this program is the ability ti
convert FROM quicktime to DIVX, xvid or any other
codec....this is by far the easiest program to use for
video format converting....

Ability to Suppress Video Output

The option to ignore the audio stream is extremely
useful, and allows more flexible video encoding through
multiple passes. It would be nice if there was an option
to only encode the audio stream, and bypass the video
decompressing/recompressing. This would remove any
redundant audio encoding or unecessary stream
copying.

How about an option to interleave the raw AC3 audio
with the AVI?

I've learned that AC3 is a very efficient and accurate
audio encoding format. Re-encoding to MP3 doesn't save
much (if any) space, and certainly doesn't help the sound
quality. With the availability of this new AC3 playback
filter, there is no need to re-encode the AC3 audio
present in the original material (i.e. VOBs).

alternative, since it ... is
just that, a compressor (a compressor
diminishes the differences of amplitude [volume] between weak
and strong signals - the murmur of a light breeze comes out at a
similar volume level as the ignition sound of a space shuttle booster
rocket). Well, you know this.

state I never know what the actual rightness setting is.
Hitting
"Default" will set back changes in brightness correction (O.K.),
but at the same time it will undo all my changes to video picture size,
cropping, and letterbox (aw, Shit!).

Plz allow pixel accurate cropping, just to be able to crop in 16bit
steps kind of really gives FlaskMpeg a major disadvantage
compared to Xmpeg, Vidomi, GKnot,...
