Keep Alive

hi,
that is possible to Refresh automaticly; every 5 min for example, the users list.
by this way, there will have communication activity to keep alive connexion when pass throught a firewall.

Queuing of spot pinchers

If all the download spots for a server are taken, then
you really only need one download to keep trying (spot
pinching). The way it currently works is that all the
other downloads you select offer you to keep trying or
cancel. If you cancel, you don't get to download, if
you "keep trying" you have multiple downloads
bombarding the server. If queuing is enabled, then
all these downloads should queue behind the download
that is already trying to pinch a spot and not try to
do the same.

On a similar note, it would be nice if it would be a
configurable option to have it automatically "keep
trying" without having to physically click the mouse
at the machine.

Local queue management

It would be nice if you had better means of organizing
the local queue, like sorting them based on server,
etc. And, it would be extremely helpful if you could
change the order of downloads in the local queue.
This was you could change the order of your downloads
without having to delete a bunch and then readd them...

Auto reconnect

It would be nice if Fidelio would try to automatically
reconnect to sites and resume the downloads it had
queued. Probably want to include some feature like
number of attempts, length of pause inbetween
reconnects, etc.

Partial File Handling

This is two requests:

1) Include support for resuming partial downloads (I
honestly have to admit that I've never looked into
what it takes to do this, but I assume this is isn't
unreasonable).

2) Have some means of differentiating between
partially downloaded files and those that have
finished. A simple naming convention would be nice.
Reconnecting to the server and comparing file sizes is
kinda lame.

Server origin on messages

It would be nice if messages sent to you specified
which server they came from. I'm normally connected to
several different servers, and if a message pops up, I
have no idea where it came from. I have to go digging
through the user lists to figure it out.

Remote control

It would be nice if you could remotely control/check
on a fidelio session I'm running elsewhere. A couple
of ideas that come to mind:

1) Using named pipes to send instructions and recieve
output ( "borrowed" from licq ) using a completely
command-line driven interface.

2) The ability to send it a command that would allow
you to open additional windows to the session using
remote X. i.e. if you were to ssh in and send it a
command like "get transactions", it would open up a
duplicate of the transaction list that is running on
the host machine (assuming you have ssh forwarding you
X connection).

Tunnel through proxy

Tunnelling through an http proxy will be really nice.
This feature is available in Windows client but none of
the Linux/UNIX clients.

export file list

It should be nice to be able to export the currently viewing file list (or the selected files) into a local file.

Administration
