I had this exact issue trying to back up a partition on a E14 Lenovo Thinkpad.

The stick was built using YUMI-exFAT-1.0.3.7 which uses Ventoy 1.1.11.

I had Clonezilla live 3.3.1-35 in my ISOs folder and got the "Box" error at the same ctrl-c/partition enumeration point as @Bodenseematze describes.

I copied the Clonezilla 3.3.2-22 iso to the stick and tried again and confirm that the issue is fixed.

For those using Ventoy 1.1.11 to create Clonezilla live USB stick, please update your Clonezilla live iso >= 3.3.2-22 or 20260418-*:

When I have a stick with Ventoy 1.1.11, boot the Clonezilla ISO with to RAM and remove the USB stick before starting clonezilla, the error is NOT present.

With a Ventoy 1.1.10 stick and booting Clonezilla without to RAM option the error also is NOT present.

So there must be something with Ventoy which changed between v1.1.10 and v1.1.11 which leads to that error...

I forgot to mention that when you try the 1st method (toram), after you see the language selection, remove the USB stick then continue to do the clonezilla TUI.

I first booted the (Ventoy) USB-Stick, started the standard clonezilla and selected the "800x600 (to RAM)" variant.
Same error message...

Then I reformatted my USB-Stick (still GPT), formatted it with FAT32 and put the Clonezilla.zip contents to it.
After booting it and selecting "1024x768" (not to RAM) the error vanished and everything works :-)

I will do another retest with ventoy 1.1.10 and post results here...

I'm sorry, it turned out to be a Ventoy issue! I downgraded to Ventoy 1.1.10 and now everything works again. I realized it when I had similar problems with the Ubuntu 24.04.4 installer running from the Ventoy stick.
