I would like to have the option to put ".bak" file in a
different directory.

I don't like to clutter my directory with bakup file.

So a new option, like 'backup-dir' in the configuration
file would be great.

PS: Have a look at the 'backupdir' option of the VIM
editor. There's some good idea which could be use here too.
