The fact that that file doesn't exist shouldn't stop anything since it will generate a new one. It may be that there is some sort of permissions problem preventing the program from writing the file, though I can't think why that might happen. Similarly a permissions problem could prevent the program from reading the files in the plugins folder. If you can handle it, there's a registry key that specifies that filename so you could try clearing that. The key is 'HKEY_USERS\YOU\Software\Apophysis AV\Defaults\LastOpenFile' but the 'YOU' will be a load of gibberish numbers and letters so I can't tell you exactly what it will be. You can find it by searching for "Apophysis AV" repeatedly in the Registry Editor. I did the same as you and extracted it to the Program Files folder and named it Apophysis AV. Same problems with it not finding the plugins or the ApophysisAV_64.rand file. I ended up taking the .rand file from an old version of Apophysis 7 and renaming it. That fixed the .rand issue and after dismissing the error dialogs, it does at least now run. I didn't have to do anything unusual to get it working, just extracted the zip to my program files folder and made some shortcuts. No compatibility fiddling or any of that nonsense. Perhaps you're missing a Microsoft runtime package? I don't know if they're needed for Delphi stuff.
