    isomorphic-git

A pure JavaScript implementation of git for node and browsers!

A pure JavaScript implementation of git for node and browsers! Clone repos, create commits, push branches and more in client-side JS. It uses the same on-disk format as git so it works with existing repos. isomorphic-git is a pure JavaScript implementation of git that works in node and browser environments (including WebWorkers and ServiceWorkers). This means it can be used to read and write to git repositories, as well as fetch from and push to git remotes like GitHub. isomorphic-git aims for 100% interoperability with the canonical git implementation. This means it does all its operations by modifying files in a ".git" directory just like the git you are used to. The included isogit CLI can operate on git repositories on your desktop or server. isomorphic-git aims to be a complete solution with no assembly required. The API has been designed with modern tools like Rollup and Webpack in mind.

    Conventional Changelog

    Conventional Changelog

Generate changelogs and release notes from a project's commit messages

The conventional-changelog repo is managed as a monorepo; it's composed of many npm packages. It's recommended you use the high-level standard-version library, which is a drop-in replacement for npm's version command, handling automated version bumping, tagging, and CHANGELOG generation. Alternatively, if you'd like to move towards completely automating your release process as an output from CI/CD, consider using semantic-release. We specifically limit our support to LTS versions of Node, not because this package won't work on other versions, but because we have a limited amount of time, and supporting LTS offers the greatest return on that investment. It's possible this package will work correctly on newer versions of Node. It may even be possible to use this package on older versions of Node, though that's more unlikely as we'll make every effort to take advantage of features available in the oldest LTS version we support.

    Git Katas

    Git Katas

A set of exercises for deliberate Git Practice

This repository is a collection of Git exercises. The concept is stolen without shame from Schauderhaft.de. Unfortunately, they have not maintained the system - and we need more good Git exercises. The exercises are designed for use when we are teaching Git courses. You should be able to use them as self-contained exercises that will allow you to keep your Git skills sharp. Exercises starting with basic are entry-level - other exercises vary greatly in difficulty. If you are coming to this repository for some basic Git knowledge, we recommend going through the exercises in the following order. This is the order that Jan Krag at Praqma teaches Git and might change over time. There are more exercises than this, but these should take you through everything you need to be able to use Git effectively in your day to day life.

    go-git

    go-git

go-git is a highly extensible git implementation library written in Go

go-git is a highly extensible git implementation library written in pure Go. It can be used to manipulate git repositories at low level (plumbing) or high level (porcelain), through an idiomatic Go API. It also supports several types of storage, such as in-memory filesystems, or custom implementations, thanks to the Storer interface. It's being actively developed since 2015 and is being used extensively by Keybase, Gitea or Pulumi, and by many other libraries and tools. After the legal issues with the src-d organization, the lack of update for four months and the requirement to make a hard fork, the project is now back to normality. The project is currently actively maintained by individual contributors, including several of the original authors, but also backed by a new company, gitsight, where go-git is a critical component used at scale. go-git aims to be fully compatible with git, all the porcelain operations are implemented to work exactly as git does.

    immutability-helper

    immutability-helper

Mutate a copy of data without changing the original source

React lets you use whatever style of data management you want, including mutation. However, if you can use immutable data in performance-critical parts of your application it's easy to implement a fast shouldComponentUpdate() method to significantly speed up your app. Dealing with immutable data in JavaScript is more difficult than in languages designed for it, like Clojure. However, we've provided a simple immutability helper, update(), that makes dealing with this type of data much easier, without fundamentally changing how your data is represented. You can also take a look at Facebook's Immutable.js and React’s Using Immutable Data Structures section for more detail on Immutable.js. You have no way of determining which data has changed since the previous copy has been overwritten. Instead, you need to create a new copy of myData and change only the parts of it that need to be changed.

    Git Subtree Splitter

    Git Subtree Splitter

Split a repository to read-only standalone repositories

Split a repository to read-only standalone repositories. splitsh-lite replaces the subtree split Git built-in command to make splitting a monolithic repository to read-only standalone repositories easy and fast. Both strategies work well and both have drawbacks as well. splitsh helps use both strategies by providing tools that automatically synchronize a monolithic repository to standalone repositories in real-time. splitsh-lite is a sub-project that provides a faster implementation of the git subtree split command, which helps create standalone repositories for one or more sub-directories of a main repository. If you want to learn more about monorepo vs manyrepos, watch this 4-minute lightning talk I gave at dotScale (or read the slides)... or watch the longer version from DrupalCon. "The Monorepo - Storing your source code has never been so much fun" is also a great resource.

    Guitar

    Guitar

    Git GUI Client

Many Git client apps have some problems. It's too late to start up, falls well, is user registration tedious when downloading, is paid for commercial use, is not multi-platform, or is an animation or visual effect. It was said that the production was overkill and the wizard and the source code were not published. I tried to eliminate such inconvenience as much as possible. At first I started developing it for my own study, because I was interested in learning how to use Git and how it worked inside. Some of the best engineers of the time may think Git in GUI. That's a lot of it. When I want to execute a command that I rarely use, I sometimes force myself to do not rely on the GUI, open the terminal and hand enter the git command. If you find a feature that you find useful, you can incorporate it into this app. You can use it comfortably for daily use of Git operations, want to see the commit graphs cleanly, or just for such uses.

    Znap!

    Znap!

Znap! Fast, easy-to-use tools for Zsh dotfiles & plugins

Znap is a fast, light-weight set of tools to ease the use of Zsh plugins & Git repos and reduce your shell's startup time. Using Znap to manage your plugins can be as simple as putting this in your .zshrc file. Additionally, Znap makes it so that you actually need to have less in your .zshrc file, by automating several tasks for you. Note that the above example does not include any call to complist, compinit, or bashcompinit in the .zshrc file. That is because Znap will run these for you as needed. Znap compiles your scripts and functions in the background. This way, your shell will start up even faster next time! Znap automatically regenerates your comp dump file whenever you install or update a repo or change your .zshrc file. When using git 2.31.0 or newer, Znap automatically enables git maintenance in each repo that it manages. This automatically optimizes your repos in the background, so that your git and znap commands will run faster.

    gitbase

    gitbase

SQL interface to git repositories, written in Go.

gitbase, is a SQL database interface to Git repositories. This project is now part of source{d} Community Edition, which provides the simplest way to get started with a single command. It can be used to perform SQL queries about the Git history and about the Universal AST of the code itself. gitbase is being built to work on top of any number of git repositories. gitbase implements the MySQL wire protocol, it can be accessed using any MySQL client or library from any language. The project is currently in alpha stage, meaning it's still lacking performance in a number of cases but we are working hard on getting a performant system able to process thousands of repositories in a single node. Stay tuned! gitbase was born to ease the analysis of git repositories and their source code. Also, making it MySQL compatible, we provide the maximum compatibility between languages and existing tools.

    gitwatch

    gitwatch

Watch a file or folder and automatically commit changes to a git repo

A bash script to watch a file or folder and commit changes to a git repo. Some programs auto-write their config files, without waiting for you to click an 'Apply' button; or even if there is such a button, most programs offer you no way of going back to an earlier version of your settings. If you commit your config file(s) to a git repo, you can track changes and go back to older versions. This script makes it convenient, to have all changes recorded automatically. If you use an editor that does not have built-in git support (or maybe if you don't like the git support it has), you can use gitwatch to automatically commit your files when you save them, or combine it with the editor's auto-save feature to fully automatically and regularly track your changes. If you have any other uses, or can think of ones, please let us know, and we can add them to this list! gitwatch can be installed from source by simply cloning the repository and putting the shell script into your $PATH.

    GIT quick statistics

    GIT quick statistics

An efficient way to access various statistics in git repository

git-quick-stats is a simple and efficient way to access various statistics in a git repository. Any git repository may contain tons of information about commits, contributors, and files. Extracting this information is not always trivial, mostly because there are a gadzillion options to a gadzillion git commands. For those who prefer to utilize command-line options, git-quick-stats also has a non-interactive mode supporting both short and long options. You can change to the legacy color scheme by toggling the variable _MENU_THEME between default and legacy. You can set variable _GIT_LIMIT for limited output. It will affect the "changelogs" and "branch tree" options. You can also exclude files from the stats. Note that it works with any alphanumeric, glob, or regex that git respects.

    GRV

    GRV

GRV is a terminal interface for viewing git repositories

GRV is a terminal-based interface for viewing Git repositories. It allows refs, commits and diffs to be viewed, searched and filtered. The behavior and style can be customized through configuration. A query language can be used to filter refs and commits, see the Documentation section for more information. Commits and refs can be filtered using a query language. Changes to the repository are captured by monitoring the filesystem allowing the UI to be updated automatically. Organized as tabs and splits. Custom tabs and splits can be created using any combination of views. Vi like keybindings by default, key bindings can be customized. Custom themes can be created. Mouse support. Commit Graph.grv is currently an alias used by oh-my-zsh. Add unalias grv to the end of your .zshrc to invoke GRV.

    Gitblit

    Gitblit

    pure java git solution

Gitblit is an open-source, pure Java stack for managing, viewing, and serving Git repositories. It's designed primarily as a tool for small workgroups who want to host centralized repositories. Gitblit GO is an integrated, single-stack solution based on Jetty. You do not need Apache httpd, Perl, Git, or Gitweb. Should you want to use some or all of those, you still can; Gitblit plays nice with the other kids on the block. This is what you should download if you want to go from zero to Git in less than 5 mins. Gitblit WAR is what you should download if you already have a servlet container available that you wish to use. Jetty 6/7/8 and Tomcat 6/7 are known to work. Generally, any Servlet 2.5 or Servlet 3.0 container should work. Gitblit can be used as a dumb repository viewer with no administrative controls or user accounts. Gitblit can be used as a complete Git stack for cloning, pushing, and repository access control.
