    Guard

    Guard

Guard is a command line tool to easily handle events on file system

Please upgrade to Ruby >= 2.4 before installing Guard! To install for older versions, update Bundler at least 1.12: gem update bundler and Bundler should correctly resolve to earlier gems for your given Ruby version. Guard automates various tasks by running custom rules whenever file or directories are modified. It's frequently used by software developers, web designers, writers and other specialists to avoid mundane, repetitive actions and commands such as "relaunching" tools after changing source files or configurations. Common use cases include: an IDE replacement, web development tools, designing "smart" and "responsive" build systems/workflows, automating various project tasks and installing/monitoring various system services.

    PlatformIO Atom IDE Terminal

    PlatformIO Atom IDE Terminal

A terminal package for Atom, complete with themes, API and more

The PlatformIO Atom IDE Terminal is a lightweight terminal package for the Atom editor that embeds a native shell right inside the editor UI. It provides a familiar terminal experience—shell history, colors, and interactive programs—without switching windows, which streamlines workflows when building, flashing, or debugging embedded firmware from PlatformIO or other toolchains. The integration supports multiple terminal tabs, configurable shells, and user-defined startup commands so each project pane can pre-load environment variables or virtualenvs. Because embedded development often requires frequent command-line interactions (builds, serial monitors, log watchers), having the terminal adjacent to code and the project tree significantly reduces context switching. The package is intentionally minimal and focuses on stability and responsiveness rather than trying to replace full-featured terminal emulators.

    Spaceship Prompt

    Spaceship Prompt

Minimalistic, powerful and extremely customizable Zsh prompt

Spaceship is a fast, minimal, and extensible Zsh prompt that shows context-aware information without clutter. It exposes “sections” for common developer signals—current directory, Git status, package versions, language runtimes, Docker/Kubernetes context, exit status, and time—then renders only what’s relevant. Configuration is done almost entirely through environment variables, letting you reorder, hide, or customize sections without writing functions. It supports asynchronous segments to keep the prompt snappy even when querying VCS or runtime tools. Since it’s just a theme, it integrates with existing Zsh plugin managers and plays well with syntax highlighting and autosuggestions. Many teams standardize on Spaceship to keep shell environments consistent across machines while allowing personal tweaks. Despite its breadth of integrations, the default look remains clean and readable, optimized for both light and dark terminals.

    TinyGo

    TinyGo

    Go compiler for small place

TinyGo brings the Go programming language to embedded systems and to the modern web by creating a new compiler based on LLVM. You can compile and run TinyGo programs on over 60 different microcontroller boards such as the BBC micro:bit and the Arduino Uno. TinyGo can also produce WebAssembly (WASM) code which is very compact in size. You can compile programs for web browsers, as well as for server and edge computing environments that support the WebAssembly System Interface (WASI) family of interfaces. TinyGo is a Go compiler intended for use in small places such as microcontrollers, WebAssembly (Wasm), and command-line tools. It reuses libraries used by the Go language tools alongside LLVM to provide an alternative way to compile programs written in the Go programming language. While TinyGo embeds the Clang compiler to parse import "C" blocks, many features of Cgo are still unsupported.

    aws-encryption-sdk-cli

    aws-encryption-sdk-cli

    CLI wrapper around aws-encryption-sdk-python

This command line tool can be used to encrypt and decrypt files and directories using the AWS Encryption SDK. If you have not already installed cryptography, you might need to install additional prerequisites as detailed in the cryptography installation guide for your operating system. Installation using a python virtual environment is recommended to avoid conflicts between system packages and user-installed packages. For the most part, the behavior of aws-encryption-cli in handling files is based on that of GNU CLIs such as cp. A qualifier to this is that when encrypting a file, if a directory is provided as the destination, rather than creating the source filename in the destination directory, a suffix is appended to the destination filename. By default the suffix is .encrypted when encrypting and .decrypted when decrypting, but a custom suffix can be provided by the caller if desired.

    dive

    dive

A tool for exploring each layer in a docker image

A tool for exploring a docker image, layer contents, and discovering ways to shrink the size of your Docker/OCI image. As you select a layer on the left, you are shown the contents of that layer combined with all previous layers on the right. Also, you can fully explore the file tree with the arrow keys. Files that have changed, been modified, added, or removed are indicated in the file tree. This can be adjusted to show changes for a specific layer, or aggregated changes up to this layer. The lower left pane shows basic layer info and an experimental metric that will guess how much wasted space your image contains. This might be from duplicating files across layers, moving files across layers, or not fully removing files. Both a percentage "score" and total wasted file space is provided. You can build a Docker image and do an immediate analysis with one command: dive build -t some-tag .

    Amazon EC2 Spot Interrupter

    Amazon EC2 Spot Interrupter

CLI tool that triggers Amazon EC2 Spot Interruption Notifications

Amazon EC2 Spot Instances let you run flexible, fault-tolerant, or stateless applications in the AWS Cloud at up to a 90% discount from On-Demand prices. Spot instances are regular EC2 capacity that can be reclaimed by AWS with a 2-minute notification called the Interruption Notification. Applications that are able to gracefully handle this notification and respond by check pointing or draining work can leverage Spot for deeply discounted compute resources! In addition to Interruption Notifications, Rebalance Recommendation Events are sent to spot instances that are at higher risk of being interrupted. Handling Rebalance Recommendations can potentially give your application even more time to gracefully shutdown than the 2 minutes an Interruption Notification would give you. It can be challenging to test your application's handling of Spot Interruption Notifications and Rebalance Recommendations.

    Consola

    Consola

Elegant Console Logger for Node.js and Browser

Fancy output with fallback for minimal environments. Consistent command-line interface (CLI) experience. Spam prevention by throttling logs. console uses std in the underlying so calling wrapStd redirects console too. The benefit of this function is that things like console.info will be correctly redirected to the corresponding type. Any instance of consola that inherits the mocked instance, will apply provided callback again. This way, mocking works for withTag scoped loggers without the need for extra effort. Choose between one of the built-in reporters or bring in your own one. By default FancyReporter is registered for modern terminals or BasicReporter will be used if running in limited environments such as CIs. A reporter (class or object) exposes log(logObj) method. To get more info about how to write your own reporter, take a look at the linked implementations.

    Flow Typed

    Flow Typed

A central repository for Flow library definitions

High-quality library definitions for Flow. flow-typed is a repository of third-party library interface definitions for use with Flow. When you start a project with Flow, you likely want to use some third-party libraries that were not written with Flow. By default, Flow will just ignore these libraries leaving them untyped. As a result, Flow can't give errors if you accidentally misuse the library (nor will it be able to auto-complete the library). To address this, Flow supports library definitions which allow you to describe the interface of a module or library separate from the implementation of that module/library. The flow-typed repo is a collection of high-quality library definitions, tests to ensure that definitions remain high quality, and tools to make it as easy as possible to import them into your project. All you have to do when you add one or more new dependencies to your project is run flow-typed install.

    Muon SSH Terminal/SFTP client

    Muon SSH Terminal/SFTP client

Graphical SFTP client and terminal emulator with helpful utilities

Easy and fun way to work with remote servers over SSH. This project is being renamed as previous name "Snowflake" is confusing since there is already a popular product with the same name. Muon is a graphical SSH client. It has an enhanced SFTP file browser, SSH terminal emulator, remote resource/process manager, server disk space analyzer, remote text editor, huge remote log viewer, and lots of other helpful tools, which makes it easy to work with remote servers. Muon provides functionality similar to web-based control panels but, it works over SSH from the local computer, hence no installation is required on the server. It runs on Linux and Windows. Muon has been tested with several Linux and UNIX servers, like Ubuntu server, CentOS, RHEL, OpenSUSE, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, and HP-UX. The application is targeted mainly towards web/backend developers who often deploy/debug their code on remote servers and not overly fond of complex terminal-based commands.

    googler

    googler

    Google from the terminal

googler is a power tool to Google (web, news, videos and site search) from the command line. It shows the title, URL and abstract for each result, which can be directly opened in a browser from the terminal. Results are fetched in pages (with page navigation). Supports sequential searches in a single googler instance. googler was initially written to cater to headless servers without X. You can integrate it with a text-based browser. However, it has grown into a very handy and flexible utility that delivers much more. For example, fetch any number of results or start anywhere, limit the search by any duration, define aliases to google search any number of websites, and switch domains easily, all of this in a very clean interface without ads or stray URLs. The shell completion scripts make sure you don't need to remember any options.

    jQuery Terminal

    jQuery Terminal

JavaScript library for creating web-based terminals

jQuery Terminal is a JavaScript library for creating command-line interpreters in your applications. You can use this JavaScript Terminal library to create interactive web-based terminal applications on your website. Where commands are defined by you. You can define them on the server or in the browser's JavaScript. It can automatically call JSON-RPC service when the user types a command. Alternatively, you can provide an object with methods; each method will be invoked on the user's command (the python command can create python interpreter). An object can have nested objects which will create a nested interpreter (you can create an interactive menu of adventure games with this). You can also use a function in which you can parse user commands by yourself (you have full control of what users type into the terminal). It's ideal if you want to provide additional functionality for power users.

    peon-ping

    peon-ping

Warcraft III Peon voice notifications (+ more!) for Claude Code

Peon-ping is a quirky utility that brings fun and practical voice notifications to your development workflow by using Warcraft III peon-style sound effects whenever significant events occur in your code editor or terminal. The project is built around the idea of reducing cognitive load by audibly alerting you when processes finish, tests fail, or language models complete responses, helping you stay focused without constantly watching the screen. It integrates with Claude Code, Codex, and other IDEs so that both AI-powered responses and routine command results can trigger peon voices. Because it’s implemented as a simple shell tool, it’s lightweight, easy to set up, and runs alongside your existing tools without interfering with your core development setup. Users can customize which notifications they want and how frequently sounds play, turning mundane events into amusing auditory feedback.

    PathPicker

    PathPicker

Accepts a wide range of input, output from git commands & grep results

PathPicker accepts a wide range of input, output from git commands, grep results, searches, pretty much anything. After parsing the input, PathPicker presents you with a nice UI to select which files you're interested in. After that you can open them in your favorite editor or execute arbitrary commands. Facebook PathPicker is a simple command line tool that solves the perpetual problem of selecting files out of bash output. Bash is fully supported and works the best. ZSH is supported as well, but won't have a few features like alias expansion in command line mode. csh/fish/rc are supported in the latest version, but might have quirks or issues in older versions of PathPicker. Note: if your default shell and current shell is not in the same family (bash/zsh... v.s. fish/rc), you need to manually export environment variable $SHELL to your current shell.

    create-dmg

    create-dmg

Create a good-looking DMG for your macOS app in seconds

Imagine you have finished a macOS app, exported it from Xcode, and now want to distribute it to users. The most common way of distributing an app outside the Mac App Store is by putting it in a .dmg file. These are hard to create, especially good-looking ones. You can either pay for a GUI app where you have to customize an existing design or you can run some homebrewed Bash script and you still have to design it. This tool does everything for you, so you can play with your cat instead. The DMG detects the minimum runtime of the app, and uses ULFO (macOS 10.11 or later) or UDZO as appropriate. The resulting image has the filename App Name 0.0.0.dmg, for example, Lungo 1.0.0.dmg. It will try to code sign the DMG, but the DMG is still created and fine even if the code signing fails, for example if you don't have a developer certificate.

    grex

    grex

A command-line tool and library for generating regular expressions

grex is a library as well as a command-line utility that is meant to simplify the often complicated and tedious task of creating regular expressions. It does so by automatically generating a single regular expression from user-provided test cases. The resulting expression is guaranteed to match the test cases which it was generated from. This project has started as a Rust port of the JavaScript tool regexgen written by Devon Govett. Although a lot of further useful features could be added to it, its development was apparently ceased several years ago. The plan is now to add these new features to grex as Rust really shines when it comes to command-line tools. grex offers all features that regexgen provides, and more. The philosophy of this project is to generate the most specific regular expression possible by default that exactly matches the given input only and nothing else. With the use of command-line flags (in the CLI tool) or preprocessing methods (in the library).

    portless

    portless

Replace port numbers with stable, named .localhost URLs

portless is an open source developer tool that replaces traditional localhost port numbers with stable, human-readable .localhost URLs, simplifying local development workflows for both humans and AI agents. Instead of managing multiple numeric ports and dealing with conflicts, developers can assign named local endpoints that remain consistent across sessions and services. The project is especially useful in multi-service environments where remembering and coordinating port assignments becomes cumbersome. By automating routing and naming, Portless reduces cognitive overhead and improves clarity when running several applications simultaneously. It is implemented in TypeScript and designed to integrate smoothly into modern JavaScript and Next.js development setups.
